Rest in Peace Josephine |
September 18, 2017 |
Dear Josephine,
I am a very lucky person. Through my work I have met some amazingly special people, and for that I am eternally grateful. But nobody has touched my heart quite as much as you....
We have known each other for many years and I am pleased to have played a small but positive role in your life with your work. But our relationhsip was more than this....we formed a special friendship and I cherish the time I have known you and the times we spent together.
I shall miss you so much. Rest in Peace Josephine. God bless.
Jason

It is Hard |
September 13, 2017 |
Dear Aunty Yinka,
The last few weeks have been quite surreal to me. I received the news of your demise with shock and a lot of confusion. I have asked the what, how and why questions and I still have not been able to answer a single one of the questions.
So March 2017 was really the last time I would see you?
I found some comfort in 1 Corinthians 13: 7 "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." Thank you for the overflow of your warmth and love towards me. Your smile, your hugs, your food, your gifts and most importantly, our gists. Holiday in London will certainly be different.
I trust that you have now entered into God's rest, free from all drama here on earth.
Aunty Yinka, I will really miss your "Iya Oko" tease, my "No Aunty" response and our Facebook online checks.
Since 1 Corinthians 13: 9 - 10 says "For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." Although I still do not know the answers to all questions here and now, I trust that when perfection comes, we will understand in details everything.
You know I will always love you, right?
Rest on Aunty Yinka.

Perhaps one of my greatest regrets was missing the chance to see you smile late July. But that's life. Rest well our Yinkus.
We will surely meet again to part no more.
